A.Machoń is a Polish Canadian born in picturesque Zakopane, in the podhale region of the Tatra Mountains, and currently residing in Toronto. Prior to an extensive marketing career, her main creative outlet was sewing, tailoring and clothing design. Her 2023 work has been an exploration of art therapy, cultural imagery and illustrations. In recent years, A.Machoń has taken on various small creative projects for clients within her machoń studio. read more
The current focus of my “floating florals” illustration work revolves around exploring botanical shapes and colors. The subject matter of florals is inspired by the folk garments worn by Polish Highlander women (goralki) from the Podhale region of the Tatra Mountains. The bright floral imagery, intricate beading, contrasting patterns, and regional floral subject matter found in these folk garments serve as a tribute to the rich cultural heritage and clans. read more
My ‘floating floral’ illustration style is created by first photographing individual florals, choosing select images and digitally arranging them before illustrating them, in most cases digitally. Elements of the final image are either printed on canvas, painted on canvas, painted as a mural or transferring on any surface your heart desires. read more
